A charity is hoping supporters will jump in feet first to help with its latest fundraising plan that will allow it to continue to provide vital round-the-clock care to the desperately ill.

Rennie Groovy Shoes Day is back for 2015 - and this year aims to encourage people to step out for the day in the funnest footwear possible in return for a charity donation.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is now looking for schools, businesses and community groups to get involved, have fun and help raise funds as well as awareness of what the organisation does in the local community.

Penny Crosswell, Rennie Grove Community Fundraising Manager, said: "We really want people to get creative with their footwear for this special day and we’re especially looking for groups, schools and businesses to join in too. If you think that you would like to get involved with your work colleagues, school friends or members of a group or club, we would love to hear from you and we have special fundraising packs all ready to send out to get you started. We can also support you with balloons, collections tins, posters and other resources."

This year the charity has set up a special text number where you can make a donation of £1 by texting SHOES15 £1 to 70070.

People taking part are invited to hold a 'groovy event' such as a shoe inspired cake sale. Rennie Grove can also provide you with a Groovy Shoes Quiz to organise a special fundraising quiz night as well.

Rennie Groovy Shoes Day will take place on Friday 19 June and in addition to raising awareness of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, the money raised on the day will help the charity to care for more than 2,500 local patients and families in the next year.
