A man was shot in the head with what police believe to be a BB gun pellet in High Wycombe last week.

Police have issued a warning about the use of the weapons – some of which are legal – after a 54-year-old man was hit behind the ear with a projectile in Arundel Road on Friday, July 24.

The injury caused bleeding to his head.

PC Gemma Brown, based at High Wycombe Police Station, said: “BB guns should never be fired at people or animals.

“I would like to speak to anyone with information about the incident or information about the use of BB guns in the area.

“I’d also be keen to speak to anyone with information about who has bought a BB gun or similar weapon recently.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Gemma Brown via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
