How would you spend the county council’s multi-million pound transport budget? Now is your chance to have your say with a new online tool as county hall plans its new policies to keep Bucks on the move.

Buckinghamshire County Council is developing its new ‘Local Transport Plan’, which will come into effect next year, and wants residents to give their opinions on everything from bus and trains services to road maintenance and parking tickets.

An online app gives users a set number of ‘points’ to allocate to various priorities across the council’s areas of responsibility for transport across the county, which is worth as much as £60 million a year.

Council chiefs hope by getting feedback on what is important to residents, they can help set the plan in motion after the online tool closes on September 6.

Mark Shaw, BCC's cabinet member for Transport, said: "We live in a beautiful county which attracts many people and businesses to settle here. This means that there are more people moving around the county, placing more pressure on our road network and transport system.

“This, combined with falling central government funding, means that we have some very difficult decisions to make about how we spend next year's budget.

"So we need your help so that we set the right priorities. I'd like to encourage everyone to take this opportunity – use the app and let us know what you’d like to see in the transport plan. By taking part, your views will influence the new plan which will be in place from April 2016."
