A Heritage Open Day next week sees one of the finest gardens in south Bucks throw open its gates to the public.
The historic Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens is once again taking part in the scheme, which this year takes place on Sunday, September 13/
The 80 year old, Grade I listed gardens on Church Lane will be open from 2pm to 5pm, with guided walks given by head gardener Franzi Cheeseman.
Walks will take it St. Giles' Church, mentioned in the Domesday Book, the famous poet Thomas Gra’sy monument and tomb, the memorial gardens and tea at Stoke Park Mansion.
South Bucks District Councillor Luisa Sullivan, portfolio holder for Environment, said: “We hope lots people will take the opportunity to visit these unique Gardens for what promises to be a very informative day. Tea at Stoke Park is limited to 20 people so book today to avoid disappointment.”
