Former Eastender Pam St Clement was among a host of celebrity supporters to help raise more than £16,000 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People on Sunday.

The Saunderton-based charity hosted its annual Late Summer Show yesterday and welcomed more than 1500 visitors throughout the day.

Former Blue Peter presenter Tim Vincent, celebrity vet Marc Abraham and television star Pam St Clement officially opened the show and judged the category for the ‘waggiest tail’ at the fun dog show.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed demonstrations from the Hearing Dogs display team, a classic car display, tug of war and an all-day fun dog show.

There was also a variety of gift and craft stalls, children’s games and hundreds of dogs to meet and greet as well as a chance to win VIP tickets for One Direction.

Mel Tyrer, National Events Manager for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said the event was a huge success.

She said: “We had a fantastic day at our Late Summer Show on Sunday, and would like to thank everyone who came along in the glorious sunshine to support us.

“We were delighted that our celebrity friends Pam St Clement, Tim Vincent and Marc the Vet, could join us for the day to open the show.

“The event was a huge success and we expect to have raised more than £16,000 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. The Charity does not receive any government funding, so all funds raised at the Late Summer Show go directly to training more hearing dogs to assist deaf people.

“We hope to see everyone again at our next event at Saunderton, our Christmas Market, in late November.”
