A man has died and a woman was seriously injured in a crash involving two cars on the A355 in Coleshill yesterday evening.

A blue Ford Mondeo travelling from the direction of Amersham was involved in a crash with a blue BMW 5 series travelling in the opposite direction at around 7.30pm on Sunday evening.

The male driver of the Ford Mondeo died at the scene, while the female driver of the BMW suffered serious leg and arm injuries.

She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where she remains and her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed while Roads Policing officers investigated the circumstances of the collision and it re-opened by midnight.

Yesterday's crash comes just weeks after a 29-year-old female driver died on the same stretch of road.

Alison Kelly, who lived and worked near Amersham, died in a collision involving three cars on the A355 Amersham Road, near to Coleshill on August 25.

Thames Valley Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

Investigating officer PC Dean Verges, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Amersham, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw this fatal collision or saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision.

“If you have any information which could assist the investigation please contact police.”
