An eagle-eyed resident noticed something strange about a sign being put up in the car park of West Wycombe Village Hall last week.
The upside down sign was being fixed to the wall at one of two entrances to the car park on Thursday.
The gaffe was caught on camera by Peter Lee-Wright on his way to the post office at around 4.15pm.
Mr Lee-Wright said the sign was still being fixed to the wall on his way back from the post office 10 minutes later.
We can now confirm that the sign has been changed to the more common "IN".
