A fashion blogger from St Albans has been awarded £20,000 for her "engaging writing" and "impeccable styling".

Natasha Ngan, who attended Parmiter's School in High Elms Lane, Watford between 2002 and 2008, runs the blog Girl in the Lens, with her boyfriend Callum MacBeth-Seath - also a former Parmiter's pupil.

The 25-year-old, who lives just off the High Street, was picked as the winner of the Deichmann Fashion Blogger Prize 2015 by judges for her "engaging writing, impeccable styling and high calibre photography".

As well as the £20,000 prize money, Miss Ngan has also won a contract to become a guest blogger for Deichmann - one of largest shoe retailers in Europe.

For the second year running, the Deichmann Fashion Blogger Prize asked Britain’s fashion bloggers to write a review of the brand’s new collection, designed by international fashion blogger, Hanneli Mustaparta, on the day it launched - September, 15.

The entries were judged in a three-stage process by an independent panel of experts from the creative writing and fashion industries, including last year's winner, Carrie Harwood.

Ms Ngan, who is the author of two books for young adults, said: "I’m absolutely delighted to win.

"Me and Callum started Girl in the Lens to combine my love of fashion and writing and his passion for photography.

"We put so much time and love into the blog, running it alongside our other jobs, and it's just so wonderful for our work to be recognised. We never dreamed we would win."

Simon Wilson, head of buying and marketing at Deichmann UK, said: "We have been incredibly impressed by the creative ways these bloggers have presented the Hanneli Mustaparta collection in their posts.

"There was an amazingly high standard of submissions this year and it was a really hard fought competition, but we are delighted to award Natasha Ngan the prize and are looking forward to reading her first guest blog post for us this week."

Miss Ngan, a Cambridge graduate, will be posting her first blog for Deichmann this month.
