Asda has announced that it will not be taking part in the Black Friday shopping event this year.
On November 27, excited shoppers are expected to form large queues outside high street shops which are taking part in the discount bargain day.
Last year, hundreds tried to crowd into the Asda supermarket in Cressex as they hunted for the best deals, but the retailer has announced that will it not be repeated this month in any of its stores.
Shops which will be taking part in the event nationally include Argos, Currys and River Island.
