A Marlow nursery has been recognised as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for the third time in a row.

Marlow Montessori School on Frieth Road retained the award from Ofsted’s previous visit over five years ago.

Manager of the nursery, Jan Lundie said she is ‘delighted’ with the result and hopes that pre-schools across Marlow can work together to help each other improve education for young children.

She said: “Because we were seen as outstanding on the last visit over five years ago Ofsted haven’t visited us again until now.

“Ofsted came in last Monday and she told us on the same day. We are so pleased because the bar is set so high.

“This is the third time we have achieved outstanding so we are delighted – we must be doing something right.”

Ms Lundie, who established the nursery 15 years ago, said the secret to success was a small longstanding team team and abiding with Ofsted’s ‘learning through play’ philosophy.

“She said how well the children were doing and how confident they are. Going forward we just want to make sure we maintain our good standards and work together with other nurseries in Marlow.

“The bar is set so high for nursery education I think it would be a lot easier if we worked together and bounced ideas off of each other”.
