A former Wycombe Wanderers and England youth international footballer who was due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with a robbery at a betting shop will now appear next month after the hearing was adjourned.
Nathan Ashton, 28, from Reading, was charged in November for his alleged role in the robbery at a branch of Corals, in Cressex, which happened on October 30.
An unspecified amount of cash was stolen during the raid.
Ashton, who is still listed on Marlow FC’s website as being a coach for the first team, was due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court this morning (January 29), but the hearing has now been adjourned until February 12.
Ashton's most recent Football League club were Wycombe Wanderers, where he made 13 appearances in the 2008/09 season.
