Pancake racers put on a flipping good show in High Wycombe yesterday as six teams competed to prove they were batter than the rest.
Staff at Paul’s Row-based Noodle Nation once again showed they were the cream of the crepe in the town, continuing their pancake roll by claiming victory for the second year in a row at Eden Shopping Centre.
However, it wasn’t all easy-baking for the winners as their opponents did their best to whip the crowd into a frenzy.
Throwing a live audience into the mix ensured all the runners were kept on their toes, with the organisers – Shopmobility High Wycombe – claiming it was “one of the best in years”.
£105 was raised for the charity and manager Claire McMackin has praised those who took part to help raise awareness of the work they do.
She said: “The teams had great camaraderie and banter, there was a lot of laughing and the event went down very well.
“We’ve been doing it for many years, but I think this was probably the best one since we have been a part of the Eden Shopping Centre.”
Teams from John Hampden Grammar School, representing the mayor of High Wycombe, also took part in the event but lost at the semi-final stage.
Shopmobility High Wycombe, based in Eden Shopping Centre, aim to help people with mobility needs and offer daily use of equipment for free.
