A naval helicopter made a pit stop in the grounds of a Marlow school this week in welcome distraction for pupils and staff.
Sir William Borlase Grammar School – on West Street – welcomed a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter from Yeovilton in to its fields on Wednesday morning.
The visit is hoped to inspire students taking part in ‘The Falcon Project’ - a national schools competition run by the Royal Aeronautical Society to design a flight simulator.
However, after scooping £500 in the first leg of the competition to go towards their project, staff and students have opted to go the extra mile and build their own simulator by the end of April.
Cox Green School in Maidenhead and The Beaconsfield School on Wattleton Road are working with Borlase on the initiative.
