A snow alert has been reissued by the Met Office, with Buckinghamshire expected to see a “cover of snow” tonight.

The warning is in place from 8pm today until 10am tomorrow (Thursday).

The yellow alert is expected to impact many places in the south, including Bucks, London, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

Forecasters first issued the warning yesterday and are still saying that rain seems likely to turn to sleet and snow in places during the night, across parts of central and southern England.

However, it is expected to “gradually” ease and clear away south-eastwards by the morning.

According to the Met Office, some places will see rain or sleet rather than snow but at least for some of the higher ground, and at lower levels in some areas, there may be a cover of snow - perhaps a few centimetres.
