A section of the M40 was closed for almost four hours on Friday morning after a serious crash led to man being air-lifted to hospital with serious leg injuries.
All lanes have since reopened.
Two men were injured during the incident, which happened on the northbound side of the motorway between junctions four and five.
Two cars went in to the central reservation just after 8am with all traffic stopped since before 8:30.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they were called to the collision at 8.07am and a male passenger of one of the vehicles was taken by air ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
South Central Ambulance Service confirmed that one person sustained serious leg injuries during the incident.
They were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital via the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance.
Bucks Fire and Rescue say that three crews attended the scene and released an injured man. They also confirmed another injured man was released before they arrived.
The traffic was stopped southbound for an air ambulance to attend but all lanes have since reopened.
Shortly before 12.30 Highways England confirmed that clearance work on the northbound side had been completed and all lanes were reopened.
