Chiltern and South Bucks has appointed a former Wycombe chief inspector as its new deputy local police area (LPA) commander.

Chief inspector Scott Messenger joined the LPA last week, taking over from chief inspector Sarah Grahame who has since moved to Windsor and Maidenhead LPA as their new deputy LPA commander.

Prior to joining the senior command team in Chiltern and South Bucks last week, Ch Insp Messenger worked as a neighbourhood inspector for Wycombe, including heading up the team at Marlow.

The married father-of-two is no stranger to Chiltern and South Bucks having worked in the area as a police constable over ten years ago.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working with the communities of Chiltern and South Bucks.

"My aim is to provide a high level of service to those we serve and to continue to make the local police area a safe place to live, work and visit."

Ch Insp Messenger began his career with Thames Valley Police in 2003 as a police constable in Wycombe and then Amersham.

In 2006 he worked for the Force Crime Inspection Department (CID) in Wycombe as a detective constable and later as a response sergeant and detective inspector.
