UPDATE: Arrest not believed to be related to leaked Isis recruit list, police advisor says.

A teenager from High Wycombe has been arrested in connection with terrorism offences today.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested this morning (March 10) on suspicion of arranging funds or property for the purpose of terrorism.

The arrest relates to an investigation by the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU).

Officers have assured residents that the police activity relates to conflict overseas and there is no immediate threat to local communities or anywhere else in the UK.

Local police area commander for Wycombe, Supt Ed McLean said: "I would like to reassure the community that this investigation should have very little impact on local residents. The arrest was pre-planned and was not made in response to any immediate threat to public safety in High Wycombe.

"Our officers will continue to maintain a presence in the area, offering reassurance to the local community."

If anyone has any concerns or information contact police on the 101 number or the Anti-Terrorist Hotline 0800 789 321. All calls will be treated with the strictest confidence.
