Crime-fighting cats could be coming to our streets as police announce they will trial the very first Cat Unit in a bid to tackle law-breakers.
Thames Valley Police are just a whisker away from the new scheme, and are looking for purr-fect feline recruits to join PC Tibbles, Chief Mouse Liaison Officer, and use their “unique” skills, nine lives, night vision and spatial awareness to catch cat burglars while on paw-trol.
While previous trials of the cat unit have been unsuccessful, TVP hope that with modern technology, they have finally mastered the art of cat training.
Efforts to pair the new furry recruits with their existing Dog Unit has so far proved unsuccessful, but police say they are paw-sitive that they will put aside their “natural dislike” for each other in time.
