The new fundraiser at South Bucks Hospice has pledged to raise £1million a year to go towards a new centre in High Wycombe.

Head of fundraising and marketing, Liz Taylor, joined the charity’s team last month and is charged with leading the campaign to raise the £850,000 annual running costs of the new Totteridge hospice - which is set to open in 2017.

She will also aim to bring in extra money to provide additional services for people with life limiting conditions.

The Berkshire resident said: “A community hospice is a place of care, a place to create memories, to be with those you love. Everyone deserves this support,” said Liz, who lives in Berkshire.

“I joined South Bucks Hospice because we stand alongside those who need us today and campaign for ‘better end of life care’ for those in need tomorrow.”

Ms Taylor has wealth of experience in fundraising and was previously director of fundraising at Cruse Bereavement Care and created a Big Hug campaign for bereaved children.
