Heavy downpours throughout the day could lead to flooding and travel disruption in Buckinghamshire, weather forecasters are warning.

Rain is set to batter parts of Bucks over the next 48 hours, with potential thunder storms coming as an additional hazard, the Met Office says.

A yellow rain warning is currently in place across the county from 10am to 10pm today and returns from 10am to 9pm tomorrow – while the rest of the week could be dry.

This morning, the chief forecaster said: “As with most recent days, temperatures will rise, triggering some heavy downpours.

“These may locally produce 15 to 25 mm of rainfall in an hour, bringing the risk of flooding, especially if affecting urban areas.”
