A 14 year old schoolboy has raised over £500 pounds for a hospice charity through baking for his fellow students.
Great Marlow student Jamie Kerley initially started baking cakes for other pupils in his class, but the word spread quickly around the school and he started receiving orders from across the years, enabling him to raise £574.58.
This was all donated to Sue Ryder, a charity who provide hospices and neurological care as well as emotional support for people facing life-changing diagnoses.
Headteacher Geralyn Wilson was particularly pleased, saying “I am very proud of his hard work and persistence in his efforts to raise money for such a good cause.”
She also mentioned that “The tradition of students raising money for charity in this school is going from strength to strength” after fundraising earlier this year by rowing 1.2 million metres.
