Murdered widow Tina Choules received a blow to the head before being set on fire, a post mortem has revealed.
Coroners carried out their investigation yesterday afternoon (July 8) following the brutal attack at 81-year-old Mrs Choules’ countryside home in Marlow Bottom on Wednesday morning.
The cause of death has been determined as a “blunt trauma head injury” according to coroners and she was then set alight at her home.
Formal identification of Mrs Choules is yet to take place according to Thames Valley Police.
Police who arrived at Mrs Choules' home after a 999 call at 6.30am on Wednesday found her lying on the lawn outside the house and immediately called for the fire brigade.
A man was arrested on the same day on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.
Police are urging anyone with any information to contact them via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
