Traffic chaos around Aylesbury caused huge delays as thousands headed up to the north of Bucks for the annual county show – with an air ambulance landing after a crash.
Motorists reported long tailbacks approaching the showground, with long delays on the A413 that leads up to the showground at Weedon and on the Aylesbury Ring Road.
Bucks Free Press photographer Anita Ross Marshall, who queued for more than an hour through the town, said an air ambulance had landed on the A413 north of Aylesbury.
She said: “There’s so many people heading up here and they’re going to find it really difficult. It’s an absolute nightmare.”
South Central Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to Whaddon Chase, just off the A413, at 11.30am after a crash between a car and a motorbike that had two people on board.
An air ambulance was sent to the scene along with two ambulance crews and a rapid response vehicle.
Two people - one adult and a child - were treated at the scene before being taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
It is also understood that some of the animals set to feature in the show were delayed uin transit.
The roads around the showground at Weedon were gridlocked, including the main A413 and ring road.

Some on Twitter are not amused.

There are also complaints that buses are late, with Arriva blaming the show for the delays.
@electrodoll87 I am afraid the delays are due to the Bucks County Show which is taking place today, we did post this on social media, sorry!

And it seems that the problems did not end there, with some taking to social media to complain at how difficult it was to get out of the showground.
@bucksfreepress awful traffic jams getting out of the @buckscountyshow car park. Very difficult situation with little leadership & guidance

However, many people did arrive at the annual rural show, with parades and animal shows now in full flow.
