Creative employees at a craft company took part in a Christmas card making race in High Wycombe last week to help families in need this festive season.

A total of six demonstrators from the company Stampin’ Up! made a staggering 830 Christmas cards in one day on November 25 to be donated to Ronald MacDonald House Charities as part of its ‘Christmas Cheer Challenge’.

The charity provides ‘home away from home’ accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals across the UK enabling families to stay close to their children while they are in hospital.

The cards created will be given to families staying at the houses – who will not have the time to buy their own this Christmas.

The mayor of High Wycombe, councillor Zia Ahmed, and Nicola Savage, from the charity, were among the 13 people who attended the event at the High Wycombe office on London Road.

Paula Gorry, UK Business Development Manager at the company, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who kindly gave up their time to come and help us make the cards and hope that they will bring some well-deserved Christmas cheer into these families’ lives.”
