Police are appealing for information after a bus crashed into a house, leaving five people injured in Holmer Green yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Wycombe Road at around 2.30pm on Saturday after a Carousel bus careered into the house - which had at least two people inside at the time - and caused serious damage.

Fortunately the two occupants were able to escape with only minor injuries.

No-one was trapped, but two men and a woman on the bus were injured, along with the driver, who suffered minor injuries.

One person went to hospital.

A structural engineer and contractors are now working with recovery operators to remove the bus safely from the house today.

Two fire crews from High Wycombe, two Urban Search and Rescue vehicles from Aylesbury and an officer attended the scene at 2.24pm and used blocks and wedges to make the bus safe.

Sgt Tom Smith of the Roads Policing department, based in Amersham, said: “It was very fortunate that people weren’t seriously injured in this collision.

“We are now investigating the circumstances which led to this crash and would ask that anyone who was on the Wycombe Road yesterday just before 2.20pm and witnessed the incident or the bus driving just before the collision to call us as a matter of urgency on 101.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Roads Policing on 101 and quote URN 844 17/12.
