A bus driver has been 'relieved of driving duties' after a devastating smash in Holmer Green which left five people injured.

These pictures show the devastation caused after a Carousel bus, based in Hughenden Avenue, careered into the house in Wycombe Road – which had at least two people inside at the time – at around 2.30pm on Saturday, and caused serious damage.

Fortunately the two occupants escaped with minor injuries.

No-one was trapped, but two men and a woman on the bus were injured, along with the driver, who suffered minor injuries.

One person was taken to hospital.

The bus driver is said to have a good driving record.

In a statement, a spokesman from Carousel Buses said they are in touch with the "parties affected" and are "doing everything [they] reasonably can to assist them at this time."

The spokesman said: "The cause of the incident is currently the subject of a full investigation. The driver concerned has been with the company [for] 16 months and has a good record.

"The driver concerned has been relieved of driving duties until our investigation has been completed.

"He did not suffer any major injury as a result of the collision and is currently assisting us with our investigation.

"The vehicle records have been reviewed and are in order with no reported defects prior to the incident.

"The vehicle was removed from the house on Sunday afternoon and the structural condition of the house and repairs required are being determined.

"We will provide any assistance required to facilitate this process."
