UPDATE: Pictures - Snow hits south Bucks

Snow is expected imminently across the county and expected to last until midnight tomorrow (Friday), according to a weather warning issued by the Met Office.

It comes after it issued a yellow warning of snow from 10am until midnight today - it is now predicting snow from 12pm onwards and has issued an yellow warning for ice until 11am tomorrow.

The weather service said rain moving eastwards across the south of the UK today may turn into snow in places.

There is also a small chance of up to four centimetres of snow settling on low ground more widely this evening, while higher areas could see up to 10cm settling.

This could lead to distruption to road, rail and air services, as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities.

The Met Office also warned that associated heavy rain and strong winds could prove hazardous, and, as skies clear this evening and tonight, there could be widespread ice forming on untreated roads.

Drivers are being warned of longer journey times, with the ice being expected to create "difficult" driving conditions.
