Primal Scream, The Charlatans and Goldie Lookin Chain are among some of the acts to have been confirmed for this year's PennFest.

Following a sell-out event last summer, which saw a record-breaking 10,000 people enjoy the festivities, the successful music event will return in July.

American hip hop group Sugar Hill Gang will also be performing at the popular two-day summer festival, which will take place on July 21 and 22 this year.

Drum and Base DJ's Sigma, Maverick Sabre, EMF, Cast and Reverend and the Makers join the impressive line-up, along with Foundations singer, Kate Nash and indie rockers Pigeon Detectives.

More performers are set to be announced in the coming months.

As well as the main stage acts, a variety of up and coming bands will be performing at the yearly festival, in The Big Park, Horsemoor Lane in Penn Street.

The popular Old Skool Warehouse returns for 2017, while some new additions include the Lockdown Presents stage, which will feature DJ sets from Wilkinson, Congo Natty and Sasasas on Friday night and Blonde and Chris Lorenzo on Saturday.

Camping will be available on site from Friday, July 21 until Sunday, July 23, with free hot showers and a quieter family zone.

As well as live music, there will be a range of bars and stalls selling food from around the world, creative workshops, a global artisan market, arts and crafts workshops, a fun fair, street entertainers and performers and a circus workshop to keep children entertained.
