More than 1,000 music-lovers flocked to the Ramblin’ Roots Revue festival to enjoy 24 live Americana, roots, folk and alt-country acts from the US and UK at the award-winning at Bucks Students’ Union venue in High Wycombe.

Amersham-based Clubhouse Records, the leading UK Americana record label, backed the festival with sets from its roster of artists including Case Hardin, The Redlands Palomino Company, Luke Tuchscherer and Loud Mountains.

Tristan Tipping, co-owner of Clubhouse Records, revealed it was the first of a series of music festivals at Bucks New University.

He said: “The inaugural festival was a great success and we’re proud to have provided a great weekend of top quality live music which ranged from a solo, acoustic blues performer to a psych-Americana ensemble.

“There was an incredible array of talent on display and the date for next year’s Ramblin’ Roots Revue is already set for 6-8 April, because of overwhelming demand from guests and bands who want to be part of it again.”

One visitor, Sam Norman, from Flackwell Heath, said: "There was a fantastic atmosphere with all ages enjoying the quality acts.

“It was my first time at a Bucks Students’ Union event and I was surprised by what a great venue it is.

"I’ll definitely be back as it’s such a good live music venue and right on my doorstep.’’

Mr Tipping added: “It was great to open our doors to so many local people last weekend.

“Many weren’t aware of the variety of entertainment we provide throughout the year including live music, club nights and comedy.

“We hope more locals will come and check out what we have on offer.

“We’re now looking forward to the Bucks Blues Fest which runs on 30 June and 1 July and promises to be a must-see for fans of blues and blues rock.”

Artists confirmed for Bucks Blues Fest include Dr Feelgood, who have enjoyed global success, along with guitarist Bernie Marsden who has played in bands including UFO and Whitesnake.

Ray Alexander from New York’s jazz scene, and leader of The Hitman Blues Band & The New York City Horns Band, will perform with his band.
