A happy couple who got engaged in High Wycombe’s Eden Centre two years ago have tied the knot.

Craig Plested surprised his unsuspecting girlfriend, Shelley, in November 2014 after he got down on one knee outside House of Fraser – the spot where they first met.

Two years on from the public proposal the pair have finally said “I do” at Grovefield House Hotel in Burnham before honeymooning in the picturesque Griffon Forest in York.

During the Strictly Come Dancing inspired proposal Crag was joined by a dance troupe and popped the question when the pair’s favourite song came on – Everything by Lifehouse.

Craig said: “We had an amazing response to the proposal video on Youtube and the story in The Bucks Free Press.

“People kept ringing to congratulate us, it’s definitely the bravest thing I’ve ever done.

“Having said that, I did ask Shelley’s parents for their blessing 6 weeks before; that was pretty nerve wracking too.”

The Eden Centre became a special place for the couple as they regularly met in the area outside the House of Fraser throughout their relationship.

Marketing manager at the Eden Centre, Niamh Crowley, said; “It’s lovely to think that Craig and Shelley used the centre as a meeting point.

“It’s become like a clock tower for them. We were delighted to hear their news and wish them a lifetime of happiness.”
