Speaker John Bercow has been re-elected as Buckingham MP despite calls to oust him from the position.
Around 2,000 ballot papers were spoilt in the vote for the Buckingham constituency – which includes Princes Risborough.
However, Mr Bercow held his seat with 65.1 per cent of the vote.
There had been talks of a campaign to stop the 54-year-old being re-elected, with many residents saying they are angry that their MP is unable to represent them in the role as Speaker.
Mr Bercow did finish with more than 34,000 votes with second place Green candidate, Michael Sheppard claiming 8,574 votes.
Independent candidate Scott Raven came third, while Ukip’s Brian Mapletoft was last.
Full results:
John Bercow (Speaker) - 34,299
Michael Sheppard (Green) - 8,574
Scott Raven (Independent) - 5,638
Brian Mapletoft (Ukip) - 4,168
