Police raided properties across High Wycombe this morning as part of a massive police operation to crackdown on drug dealing across Bucks.

More than 250 officers from Thames Valley Police and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) executed 16 warrants in High Wycombe, one in Aylesbury and one in Wembley as part of operation Rowlock.

A total of 12 people are now in police custody, 11 of which are from High Wycombe, after being arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of class A drugs across the South East.

TVP has told residents there will be an increased police presence in the area as officers help vulnerable people affected by the crimes.

Deputy LPA commander for High Wycombe, chief inspector Graham Hadley, said: “After a yearlong joint investigation between CID officers from High Wycombe LPA, and SEROCU we have today carried out a number of warrants to tackle a group of people involved in organised crime.

"Officers are continuing to search various locations predominantly in the High Wycombe area and the public will see an increased police presence.

"Our action today will have disrupted a number of individuals working in organised crime who have sought fit to deal drugs in High Wycombe.

"Their actions have affected the community and increased violent and anti-social crime in the area. Additionally they have preyed on vulnerable drug users.

"In light of this neighbourhood officers will be patrolling and engaging with the public with our partners, SMART High Wycombe, Wycombe Homeless Connection and The Community Safety Partnership team from Wycombe District Council, to give vulnerable people the support they need, and to provide information to the community.”

The investigation forms part of TVP’s new campaign Stronghold, which sees police team up with other organisations to tackle organised crime.

Head of investigations at SEROCU, DCI Simon Steel, said: “This has been a detailed investigation, which has involved joint working between TVP and SEROCU.

"We will ensure we utilise our capabilities so that those that cause serious harm to our communities are brought to justice.

"We will continue to work with and support those forces within the South East Region to target those involved in serious organised criminality."

Anyone who can assist police with their investigation is asked to contact TVP on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
