High Wycombe’s first ‘Pride’ event aiming to raise awareness of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community will take place this weekend.
Crowds are expected to flock to Frogmoor from 2pm on Saturday for a series of speeches from LGBT activists and organisations, followed by a parade through the town centre.
NUT LGBT+ exec Annette Pryce, NUS LGBT+ officer Noorulann Shahid, Nicola Field of Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners and Nick O’Brien of Norwich Pride are just a few of the people who will speak during the event.
An official after party including a lineup of drag acts will take place in O’Neill’s pub in Paul’s Row from 5pm.
Pride parades take place globally, campaigning for fairness and equality for the LGBT community.
