Shoppers in Beaconsfield helped to raise more than £1,800 for charity this month.
Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s team of “dedicated” volunteers collected just over £1,800 from shoppers at the town’s Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores during September, with one volunteer collected for 13 hours over two days.
Beaconsfield mayor Cllr Chris Owen also supported the volunteers during the collection.
Hayley Webb, from Rennie Grove, said: ‘We are thrilled that just over £1800 was raised in two days and we are very grateful to the staff at Waitrose and Sainsbury’s in Beaconsfield who were all so helpful to our volunteers.
“One volunteer collected for 13 hours over the two days which was a marathon effort, and others collected for a few hours.
“Rennie Bear also made a popular appearance [during the collection].”
Rennie Grove provides palliative care for adults and children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and their families.
