Drivers in High Wycombe can expect major traffic delays when resurfacing work takes place on a busy roundabout next year.

Handy Cross roundabout and all exits including Wycombe Road, A4010 John Hall Way, Marlow Road and A404 Marlow Hill will be affected across three different weekends in February.

The roundabout and all slip roads and approaches will be shut from 9pm on February 16 until 5am on February 19 and then again from February 23 to 26 and March 2 to March 5.

The road will be resurfaced and re-marked and other maintenance and traffic loop works will be carried out.

Emergency services will be able to have access during the closures but buses will not.

The A4010 John Hall Way will be closed with access only to Lansdowne Way beyond the Crest Road roundabout, while Marlow Road will also be closed at Cressex Road mini-roundabout, with escorted access to homes.

Marlow Hill will be closed at Waitrose and the Park and Ride, with traffic only allowed to turn north.

Wycombe Road will also be access only at various points with a closure at Ragmans Lane.

The work is expected to cause traffic misery for drivers and residents living near the major roundabout.

It is due to be carried out by Kier Ltd on behalf of Highways England.
