A van has crashed into a fountain at Cliveden House.

It is not clear how the crash happened, but pictures taken by visitors who were enjoying a stroll around the National Trust site show the van submerged in the water.

The van is emblazoned with the Cliveden House logo.

A National Trust spokesman has confirmed no one was hurt and the iconic fountain is undamaged.

Cliveden general manager Mark Bradshaw said: "At approximately 6am this morning a hotel minibus drove into the Fountain of Love at Cliveden.

"Fortunately the driver was not injured in the accident and there is no apparent damage to the fountain.

"Cliveden is open as usual while the fountain is drained to aid recovery of the vehicle."
