Dashcam footage shows the shocking moment a Bentley ploughed into an oncoming car at 85mph on a 20mph road.

The speeding Bentley Continental GT appeared out of nowhere before clipping the kerb and careering into 74-year-old's Tim Edwards' car on a 20mph road in Old Amersham.

Richard Plumb, from Hazlemere, was jailed for 14 months and banned from driving for just over four and a half years on January 19 - almost three years after the terrifying crash, which was caught on Mr Edwards' dashcam.

The film shows Mr Edwards giving way to oncoming traffic along the High Street before pulling out safely.

Seconds later, the Bentley speeds round the corner, crashing into the kerb and then careering into Mr Edwards' car.

Speaking to MailOnline, Mr Edwards, from Speen, said: "I pulled out when the road looked clear and all of a sudden, this Bentley came out of nowhere.

"I remember thinking 'he's driving fast' and a couple of seconds later he crashed into me.

"There was no time to be frightened or anything like that, it was over in a flash. I emerged from my vehicle without so much as a scratch so I was incredibly fortunate."

Plumb, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident at Wycombe Magistrates' Court in October last year, is believed to have fled the scene after the crash but was indentified by blood left on the airbag of his car.

Mr Edwards, who was driving a Ford Kuga at the time of the crash, said Plumb was left "seriously injured" by the smash but called a friend who picked him up and they drove off.

The force of the smash allegedly shunted Mr Edwards' car 360 degrees as it crashed through the garden wall of a nearby listed building.

He added that Plumb's sentence was "far too lenient".
