A tribute to Wham! star George Michael will come to Wycombe Swan in April.

Fastlove, named after a song sung and co-written by the global superstar who died in 2016, will perform “crowd-pleasing” anthems, from Wham! classics of the ‘new pop’ revival to the chart topping success of the eighties album Faith.

Organisers promise a “spellbinding” experience with some of the star’s most famous songs, including Careless Whisper, Freedom, Faith, Father Figure, One More Try, Outside, Jesus To A Child and Kissing A Fool.

A spokesman said: “Relive the passion, the flare, and the unique sensitivity of George Michael in this incredible concert sensation.

“As the great man said: you gotta have faith.”

A musical great known for both his chart-topping hits and his turbulent personal life, George Michael was a giant of popular culture.

The Wham! singer and solo performer enjoyed a glittering chart career, having sold more than 100 million records including seven number one singles in the UK.

He carved out an international name for himself, but brushes with the law and tales of his drug use increasingly made more impact than his musical output.

He died peacefully at his home over the festive period in 2016, the star’s publicist announced on Christmas Day that year.
