LABOUR MP Fiona Mactaggart was out and about on the beat in Micklefield with community officers on Monday.
The MP for Slough was in High Wycombe as part of a police service Parliamentary scheme which offers Parliamentary members the chance to witness the work of the police service first-hand.
Ms Mactaggart also shadowed officers for two days and witnessed Thames Valley officers executing a search warrant at a house in Lance Way, Micklefield under the Theft Act 1968.
Items seized during the raid included a TomTom navigation system, a substance believed to be class A drugs which is currently awaiting analysis, and a set of measuring scales.
Speaking after the raid, Ms Mactaggart said: "Having seen what it's like on the front line of policing gives me a powerful insight that I can use in Parliament. I'm struck by how varied police work is from early morning raids to working the neighbourhood beat. I hope that I can use what I have learned to improve the way we police our communities."
* During the raid a 20-year-old man was arrested.
* Anyone with information relating to the stolen goods found can call PC Matt Langridge, Micklefield beat officer, on 08458 505 505.
* Alternatively, if you don't want to talk to police or leave your name, call the Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
