Another mutilated body of a cat has been found in south Bucks amid fears the M25 cat killer has struck the county.

The body of Tasha was found in Burnham last Friday (April 13) by horrified residents who said they found her maimed in their garden, later discovering she belonged to one of their neighbours.

Tasha’s owners, who did not want to be named, paid tribute to their beloved pet, shared by animal rescue group South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty – SNARL – on its social media page.

They wrote: “To my lovely pretty Tasha who over the last 14 years has brought me so much pleasure and love.

“I’m so sorry I didn't keep you safe from that evil person.

“Rest in peace my gorgeous girl.”

It comes after the mutilated bodies of two cats were found in Marlow last month, including one near the Marlow Day Nursery and Marlow CofE Infant School.

SNARL confirmed the wounds on both animals were inflicted by a human being rather than another animal, after visiting both owners.

The group warned cat owners to keep their pets indoors at night and asked for rabbits, guinea pigs and other outdoor animals to be moved indoors if possible in light of the M25 cat killer, who has thought to have killed hundreds of animals in the past few years – mainly cats, but also rabbits and foxes – and is still believed to be on the loose.
