South Bucks will be bathed in another week of gloriously warm weather as the UK prepares for a heatwave.

Temperatures are set to rocket to highs of 31°C in parts of the country, with south Bucks having its share of the sun.

High Wycombe will see highs of 26°C today (Monday), tomorrow and Thursday.

The Met Office’s chief forecaster said: “As warmer air from the continent moves towards the UK from Wednesday, temperatures will climb into the mid to high 20s quite widely, even in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

“By this stage, some places in England and Wales will very likely top 30 Celsius – it’s not unlikely somewhere could reach 32 Celsius.

“With almost wall-to-wall sunshine we’ll certainly be looking at conditions which many of us would call a heatwave.”

The weather service also warned of high UV levels during the warm spell, advising sun worshippers to “take care” when enjoying the weather outside and looking out for vulnerable people, such as older people and children, who may be at a higher risk of sunburn.
