Another overweight vehicle was seen crossing Marlow Bridge this week, prompting outrage among residents.

The highways maintenance truck was first spotted by resident Jan Clark yesterday (Thursday) and again this morning.

She said it mounted both sides of the pavement to get through, ignoring the bollards on either side and the three-tonne weight limit of the bridge.

Transport for Bucks (TfB) confirmed it was not their vehicle, saying they had passed the information on to Thames Valley Police to investigate.

Spokesman Florence Matthews said TfB was looking into installing new, more robust bollards on the bridge to prevent incidents like this, and that a public exhibition would be held in Marlow on September 18 to “present the traffic calming improvements and any additional information” to members of the public.

It comes after the bridge was forced to close for two months after a 37-tonne lorry tried to cross it, causing chaos for businesses, residents and visitors.

And last year, another lorry was left with burst tyres after attempting to get across the bridge.
