A WAREHOUSE on the future Olympic site has caught fire, throwing up a huge column of smoke visible for miles around.
The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that around 75 firefighters and 15 fire engines are on the scene in Waterden Road, Stratford.
Early reports suggest the police have ruled out terrorism as a possible cause of the blaze. There are no reports of casualties.
Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) boss David Higgins said the warehouse was being prepared for demolition, and that the fire appeared to have been caused by accident rather than arson. He also praised the emergency services for their response.
