STAFF at a charity shop in the centre of High Wycombe say they are desperate for people to come in and donate their unwanted items.
The Cancer Research UK shop in Church Street is running perilously low on stock, and manager Carlton D'Souza says clothes, bric a brack, books, CDs and DVDs are all needed.
The shop is also in need of more volunteers and security equipment such as mirrors and a CCTV system. Mr D'Souza said: "Unfortunately, like many charity shops we can't afford a CCTV system, so we are significantly exposed to theft of items from the shop, which obviously impacts on the money that we raise.
"If you have CCTV equipment that you no longer require, or you are upgrading your system, we would be very grateful if you could contact us."
He said he thought the lack of donations was down to the shop's location in a pedestrianised area. He is now looking for offices, sports clubs or village halls which could host donation stations' where people could drop off their items.
"A site on the Cressex Business Park, a facility in the West Wycombe area, and facilities somewhere along the London Road would give people more scope for donating items without having to come into the town centre," he said.
If you would like to volunteer, or could help set up a donation station, call Mr D'Souza on 01494 464174.
