  • My duck: It could be a full on, 'Ey up, mi duck'. Or it could be a shortened 'm'duck' A term of endearment.
  • Cheeselogs: a woodlouse.
  • Sharnt: Shouldn't do that, in other words.
  • I be bucks I be: I live in Bucks
  • It’s looking dark over Will’s mothers!: when dark clouds appear on the horizon.
  • Posh: as in egg, window, bottle) used in High Wycombe town centre only.
  • Be you coming a gleaning: to gather information or material bit by bit.
  • Rube: an insulting word for a person considered uneducated or uncultured.
  • A be an be: B&B, bed and breakfast.
  • Homockin​: to tread with clumsy feet.
  • Higgle to: To haggle
  • Yeah boi: Another way of saying yes in an excited way.
  • Innit: isn't it (often used in conversation when seeking confirmation or as a general filler).
  • Garrity: it describes someone who is a bit scatty or mad.
  • Gaffer: a head labourer.
  • Gawk: a tall, awkward person
  • What goes round comes round: the consequences of one's actions will have to be dealt with eventually.

  • Above a bit: very much. "He s'oore above a bit."
