The main road leading into the centre of Aylesbury was cordoned off by police following a serious incident.
In the evening of Thursday, December 1, the emergency services were called to Walton Street within the town, as a blue Citroen C1 had smashed into the metal railing in the centre of the road.
A source close to the Free Press, who was walking past the crash site at the time, revealed that the vehicle in question and the railing had been ‘badly damaged on impact’, and that ‘the car was facing the incorrect way on a two-lane one-way road.’

When asked about the collision, they said: “It looked serious and frightening.”
Upon arriving, the authorities blocked off the rest of Walton Street which would have taken motorists to the centre of Aylesbury.
This caused numerous tailbacks as drivers were stuck on the Mandeville, Stoke, Old Stoke, Walton, and Wendover Roads respectively, which are all connected.
Walton Street was reopened several hours later.
