An acclaimed theatre production starring a television actress is coming to High Wycombe.

Susie Blake, known for her roles in Coronation Street and Mrs Brown’s Boys, will star as the sleuth Jane Marple in a touring production of ‘The Mirror Crack’d’.

Rachel Wagstaff’s stage adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel, directed by Philip Franks, will show at the Wycombe Swan from February 7 to February 11.

Susie said: “I’ve always wanted to play Miss Marple. I know she’s not fashionable now, but I absolutely loved her and thought that’s what I want to do with my life – to tell stories and be part of mysteries.”

Set in 1960’s England, ‘The Mirror Crack’d’ is a story of secrets, loss and revenge. It was first published in 1962 and adapted as a feature film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Angela Lansbury in 1980.

The UK tour of Rachel Wagstaff’s stage play is produced by Original Theatre in association with JAS Theatricals and also stars Sophie Ward as Marina Gregg, Joe McFadden as Jason Rudd and Oliver Boot as Chief Inspector Craddock.

Tickets for the production are available at https://wycombeswan.co.uk/Online/tickets-the-mirror-crackd-wycombe-2023 and are priced between £14 and £37.
