Police officers cordoned off Amersham Hill near the High Wycombe train station this afternoon.
The road was closed after police officers and an bomb disposal unit arrived on the scene at around 1.40pm.
The A404 Amersham Hill bridge and High Wycombe train station area were also sealed off by police.
Due to the ongoing incident, railway lines from the train station were blocked and Chiltern Railways warned that travellers may experience cancellations or delays.
