A fish and chips van which travels around Bucks has been named one of the best in the UK at the Fry Awards 2023.
Jamie and Charlotte Bachman, who opened the Howe & Co Van 22 chippy back in 2017, were judged to be one of the best fish and chip eateries in the UK by a mystery diner from Fry Magazine.
Howe & Co Van 22 has won the prestigious award for five years in a row after consistently scoring high in criteria including quality of food, value for money and great customer service.
Jamie said: "It's amazing to get recognition for this little franchise started by my wife and I six years ago.
"We pride ourselves in sourcing the best quality ingredients and providing top customer service."
The fish and chip van travels between different communities in Bucks every day, with frequent stops including Lane End, Princes Risborough, Stokenchurch and Naphill.
The family-run business also offers an online tracker, which can be found here, to help residents keep track of upcoming stops near them.
Shops can achieve 100% ratings from mystery diners if they score top marks in every assessed category, with takeaway chippies needing to score over 95% to be named among the best in the biz.
Jamie revealed that Howe & Co Van 22 were awarded a whopping 98% rating by their mystery judge.
The Fry Awards have been held annually for 11 years, with the judging criteria adapting each year to reflect the changing nature of the fish and chip business.
Competition organiser, Reece Head, said that it had become a lot harder to operate a chippy over the last year due to rising energy, labour and ingredient costs.
He added: "Our awards are a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment these operators put into running successful businesses.
