New photos show the construction of a munchkin village and yellow brick road in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside.

A film adaptation of Wicked, the Broadway sequel to The Wizard of Oz, has been filming in the village of Ivinghoe in Leighton Buzzard since April 6.

It's not every day that Hollywood royalty descends on Bucks but the motion picture's A-list cast, including pop star Ariana Grande and Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey, are expected to remain at the site until the end of July.

New satellite images obtained by the SWNS show the elaborate set under construction including the famous yellow brick road as seen in The Wizard of Oz (1939) starring Judy Garland.

The movie-musical is being distributed by Universal Pictures and is filming near the Chiltern Hills on location for Sky Studios in Elstree, Hertfordshire.
